Getting Adjusted

Hello from the United States,

I have to admit after living in Ecuador for well over a decade, it’s not easy for us to live in the U.S.A., but we are getting along ok. We’ve now been here for around 2 months and our schedules are filling up with medical appointments, preaching schedules, and friends and family time. Thanks so much for your continued prayers, love, and support.

Update on Samuel: He is going through intensive orthodontic work in order to get his teeth in place for future surgeries. He is wearing a new set of Invisalign braces every week for the next 9 months to get prepared for the work they need to do in the future. They are trying to get his mouth ready for breaking his jaw and realigning it and to do a bone transplant to fill in the front of his gums where he was born without bone for his front teeth. This is all a step-by-step process that even the experienced doctors don’t know how long each phase will take. Please keep Sam, the doctors, and us in your prayers as we navigate through this process.

Update on Jude: Jude is going through intensive testing in order to POTENTIALLY have brain surgery. We went through most of this the last time we were in the U.S. and he never had a seizure while in the hospital. The most important piece of all this testing is to get him to have a seizure while hooked up to EEG equipment so that they can determine where the damaged part is in his brain, and where exactly the seizures are originating. The idea is that if they can see where the seizures are originating, they can remove that part of his brain and he will cease having seizures. This procedure has a 90% success rate, but we are praying the Lord’s will be done. We do NOT want him to have surgery if it is not 100% in God’s will. We are scheduled to go into the hospital on July 11th for 5 days of testing to once again try to provoke seizure activity while he’s hooked up to all the monitoring devices. This is the last piece of the puzzle to determine if he is a good candidate for this type of surgery and if we can move forward. Please help us pray!!!!

All that said to inform all of you how to pray and to let you know that we are under a lot of stress. We are scheduled to go to Michigan on July 27th for a missions conference and we will be playing a big role in ministering there. We will also be visiting Priscilla’s aunt’s church in the Columbus, OH area on the same trip. Then I, Andy, will be heading to Ecuador in mid-August for a month long trip to check up on the work, our house, and the people. We are attempting to raise up future missionaries on this trip and take advantage of our time in the U.S. and ask for your prayers as we seek to accomplish so much while on U.S. soil. Thanks so much for standing with us in the fight! Please feel free to contact us if you would like us to visit your church, bible study, or home :)

In Christ, Andy, Priscilla, Jude, Sam, and Elena
